What a wonderful way to start off the New Year!

Yesterday I was lucky enough to spend the afternoon with two of my favorite nieces, Heigen and Hallie. First we went to The Boardwalk and rode on the trolley up and down the track. The girls LOVED it!! OK, I must admit it... I enjoyed it as well... Perhaps even more than the girls! We laughed and laughed at everything from how our hair that kept whipping in our to the faces to the looks a baby was making sitting in front of us. The faces that little child was making was hilarious!

After the trolley ride, we found our way directly to Build-A-Bear. My, my, my... The girls were in HEAVEN! Since they had chosen to go and see Alvin and the Chipmunks after our bear stop, they choose an Alvin doll to stuff and dress. Naturally Alvin comes with his normal red "A" dress, but Heigen and Hallie had much grander plans for their dolls. Each of the girls choose purple cheerleader outfits to dress their dolls in later. Oh well, whatever makes them happy and they were so proud of the purple cheerleader outfit. They couldn't wait to get home to show their LSU support to Lee even if it means cross dressing Alvin. Those young ladies are so funny!

After build a bear, we made our way to Cheesecake Bistro for a bite to eat... As you can see in a few of the pictures, the girls were in rare form!!! I can attest, they are more Mac and Cheese than the entire state of Wisconsin and loved every minute of it. They ate so much, they didn't have room for dessert! Now, that says allot! I loved watching them sit there, laughing, singing and telling stories with such joy in their tiny hearts.

After getting a belly full of Mac and Cheese, off to the movies with their new Alvin Doll in tow we went. This was the first time both girls have actually sat through an entire movie... *Sigh* I am so proud!!! Again, more laughing, dancing and singing to the music as Alvin, Simon and Theodore put on a show. It was a cute movie, but I'll tell you, the girls amused me far more than the movie. (No surprise there, they always do)

You know what? I honestly feel yesterday was one of those days I will never forget. January 1, 2010 is a day I will keep in my heart for the rest of my life. What a fabulous way to start off the new year!?!?!

I try to be a good Christian, wife, daughter, aunt, sister and friend, but I am human and I am still learning. By the Grace of God, one day I will be able to add mother to the list. I am thankful who have helped me become who I am today. I remember where I have been, how I got here and know exactly where I am going. I try to say "Please" and "Thank-you" and I firmly believe in paying it forward when I can.
